Statement of Faith

What We Believe

The church that will be planted will be built upon the Lord Jesus Christ and the timeless truths of God’s Word. We believe the Bible is our sole authority for faith and practice, and that Jesus Christ is the only hope for salvation. Our desire is to glorify God, preach the Gospel, and stand firm on the fundamentals of the faith once delivered to the saints.

I. The Scriptures

We believe that the Holy Bible was verbally and plenarily inspired of God, and that God has preserved His Word for us today. We believe the King James Version of the Bible is the preserved, inerrant, and infallible Word of God for English-speaking people, and is the sole authority for faith and practice.

(Psalm 12:6–7; 2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:19–21; Matthew 24:35)

II. The True God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—equal in every divine perfection, yet executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption.

(Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 John 5:7)

III. The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is true God and true Man. He lived a sinless life, died a vicarious and substitutionary death for our sins, was buried, and bodily rose again the third day. He ascended bodily into Heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God as our High Priest and Advocate.

(John 1:1, 14; Matthew 1:18–25; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Acts 1:9–11; Hebrews 7:25; 1 John 2:1–2)

IV. The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is a divine Person, equal with God the Father and God the Son. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; regenerates, indwells, and seals the believer unto the day of redemption. We reject the modern charismatic movement, tongues, and extra-biblical revelation.

(John 16:7–14; Titus 3:5; Ephesians 1:13–14; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Romans 8:9)

V. The Devil or Satan

We believe that Satan is a real being, the author of sin and the cause of the Fall of Man; that he is the open and declared enemy of God and man, and shall be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire.

(Job 1:6–7; Isaiah 14:12–15; Matthew 4:1–11; Revelation 20:10)

VI. Creation

We believe the Genesis account of creation and that it is to be accepted literally and not allegorically or figuratively; that man was created directly in God’s own image and after His likeness. We reject evolution, the Gap Theory, and the Day-Age Theory.

(Genesis 1–2; Exodus 20:11; John 1:3; Colossians 1:16–17)

VII. The Fall of Man

We believe that man was created in innocence under the law of his Maker, but by voluntary transgression fell from his sinless state, resulting in all men being sinners by nature and by choice, and therefore all men are under just condemnation without excuse.

(Genesis 3:1–6; Romans 3:10–19; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1–3)

VIII. Salvation

We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross; that it is a free gift of God apart from works, received by repentance & faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

(Ephesians 2:8–9; John 3:16; Titus 3:5; Romans 10:9–10, 13)

IX. The Church

We believe that the local church is a body of baptized believers, associated together for worship, fellowship, service, and the spread of the Gospel. The local church has Christ as its Head and is independent and autonomous, free from any outside hierarchy.

(Matthew 16:18; Acts 2:41–47; Ephesians 1:22–23; Colossians 1:18)

X. Baptism and the Lord’s Supper

We believe that baptism is the immersion of a believer in water, symbolizing the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. It is prerequisite to the privileges of church membership and the Lord’s Supper. The Lord’s Supper is a memorial of Christ’s death until He comes again.

(Matthew 28:19–20; Romans 6:3–5; 1 Corinthians 11:23–30)

XI. Eternal Security

We believe that those who are truly born again are kept by the power of God and are eternally secure in Christ.

(John 10:27–30; Romans 8:35–39; 1 Peter 1:3–5; Philippians 1:6)

XII. The Second Coming of Christ

We believe in the imminent, pre-tribulational, and pre-millennial return of Jesus Christ. First, He will come in the air to rapture His saints before the tribulation; then, after the seven years of tribulation, He will return visibly to the earth with His saints to establish His thousand-year reign.

(1 Thessalonians 4:13–18; 1 Corinthians 15:51–52; Revelation 3:10; Revelation 19:11–16; Revelation 20:1–6)

XIII. Separation

We believe that all believers are called to live a holy life, separated from the world and its practices, from apostasy, and from those who deny the fundamentals of the faith.

(Romans 12:1–2; 2 Corinthians 6:14–17; 2 Thessalonians 3:6; 1 John 2:15–17)
