Called to Reach Queens — One Soul at a Time

Hi, we’re Japheth and Brianna Jagolina, a husband-and-wife team with a heart for missions and a burden for the people of New York City—especially Queens.

After much time of prayer, seeking God’s direction, and godly counsel, He made it clear that this unique, diverse, and densely populated borough is where He wants us to serve. Queens is home to people from all over the world—over 160 languages spoken in just 108 square miles—and we believe every one of them needs to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We count it a joy and a privilege to serve together in this mission field. Our vision is to start an independent, fundamental Baptist church, preach the Word of God, and share the Gospel in the community. Our goal is to make Christ known and glorified.

Together, we’re committed to the obedience of the Great Commision given by our Savior by planting seeds of faith, discipling believers, and helping build a local church that reflects the heart of God for all people.

Sunnyside, Queens

Sunnyside is a compact but densely populated neighborhood in western Queens, New York City, with an estimated population of approximately 28,000 residents within less than one square mile. The neighborhood is part of the larger Queens borough, known as one of the most ethnically diverse areas in the world. Sunnyside reflects that diversity, with significant communities of Irish, Latino, Korean, Turkish, Nepali, Bangladeshi, Romanian, and Tibetan descent, among others. Religious representation includes Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and various forms of Protestantism. Despite this spiritual variety, there are currently very few Baptist churches in Sunnyside—fewer than three within the immediate area—leaving a vast opportunity for Gospel-centered outreach. With such a concentration of people and cultures in need of biblical truth, Sunnyside stands as a vital mission field in the heart of New York City.
